Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain accurate entry records, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns, facility hazards, or unusual conditions.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities in required reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Access Control in Redwood City, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $29.50 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have access control or badge experience, preferred.
• Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
