Job summary

Allied Universal in Chicago, IL is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Credentialing to provide reliable part-time security coverage at a manufacturing and industrial site. The role offers a fixed anchor shift with six-month commitment and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $19.50 per hour; schedule includes Saturdays 7:00 AM–3:00 PM. You can earn more by taking extra shifts and build toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required depending on state/local rules.
• Valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors and vendors at the site.

Job Schedule:

• Sat 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, issuing appropriate access materials, and directing authorized individuals to designated areas.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle, employee, and vendor traffic in accordance with site procedures, documenting irregularities and reporting concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access‑related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, production‑adjacent areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
