Qualifications

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while following security‑related procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, directions, and access‑control procedures in accordance with facility policies.
• Prepare accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, observations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credential Reconciliation in Chicago, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate:

$20.60 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, directions, and access‑control procedures in accordance with facility policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
