Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in San Diego, CA. This position offers flexible, anchor shifts with potential for additional shifts through the Earn-A-Shift program, designed for part-time earnings with opportunities to build toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Pay rate is $20.25 per hour, with a fixed base schedule and the option to pick up extra shifts. Responsibilities include safeguarding employees and visitors, patrolling, and reporting

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A background check and drug screen may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, members, visitors, and vendors at a financial institution following security procedures.
• Monitor access points and report any unusual activity or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, ATM areas, and perimeter.
• Complete daily activity reports and shift handoff communications per site requirements.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, members, visitors, and/or vendors at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within and around the location, and report unusual conditions, suspicious activity, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, ATM areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
