How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, substations, equipment areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and potential hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorizations, and maintain accurate logs and reports of patrols, incidents, and security‑related activities.
• Maintain required armed post qualifications and handle assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policy, applicable laws, and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
