Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response protocols at county government locations.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity, hazards, access issues, and property concerns to site contacts, law enforcement, or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally per post orders.
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation per site policies.

As an Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Perimeter Patrol in Land O Lakes, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities at county government locations.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity, hazards, access issues, and property concerns to appropriate site contacts, law enforcement, and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following applicable post orders and procedures.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, patrol documentation, and other required records in accordance with site‑specific policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a Corrections Officer License.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
