Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Driver in Houston, TX. The role offers flexible, anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts and grow toward a full-time schedule.

Pay rate is $22.00 per hour. The position requires an armed certification, a valid driver’s license, and a background check. This role provides customer service duties, incident response, and regular armed patrols at a retail site.

Qualifications

• 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5 years of armed security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required per policy.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas is required or in process.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screening is required where permitted by law.
• Industry-specific security training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and employees by following site procedures and access-control practices.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances calmly and in accordance with established protocols.
• Conduct regular armed patrols throughout the retail location to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances and designated points, verify credentials, and observe for policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident and patrol reports per site procedures.

Job Schedule

• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and employees by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel and/or emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, receiving areas, parking lots, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and designated access points; verify credentials and observe for unusual activity or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and security‑related concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security‑related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
