Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Readiness in Houston, TX. The role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform, helping you increase earnings.

Pay rate is $18.84 per hour. The position requires an armed guard card and Texas Level III certification, with a minimum of six months’ armed security experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
• Prepare detailed activity, incident, and patrol reports for supervisors.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Readiness in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.


• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations through established channels.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner while following post orders and applicable procedures.


• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.


• Have at least 6 months of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.


• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.


• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.


• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
