Qualifications

• At least one year of law enforcement experience, or two years in security supervision, or three years in security experience.
• Armed guard card/license.
• College degree required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screening required.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to identify hazards and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Monitor access points and check credentials, vehicles, and authorized entry as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain logs related to patrols and incidents.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Specialist in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 02:00 AM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
• Monitor access points and check credentials, vehicles, and authorized entry as directed, helping to support controlled access to government facilities.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required logs related to patrols, incidents, observations, and security‑related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of law enforcement experience, at least two years of security‑related supervisor/manager experience, or at least three years of security‑related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
