Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Patrol for Gilroy, CA. This role provides reliable, fixed hours with opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts at multiple sites. Pay rate is $25.00 per hour, with a Monday 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM shift.

You can increase earnings via the Earn More program and fixed-anchor schedule. Qualifications include customer service experience and access control/badge familiarity; background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with hospital staff and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout assigned areas and the perimeter.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, patient, and staff directions.
• Complete accurate reports and communicate observations and concerns to leadership.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including coordinating with hospital staff and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout assigned areas and the perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity and identifying potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, patient, and staff directions while maintaining awareness of security‑related conditions.
• Complete accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
