Allied Universal in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Coordinator. You will provide security services at an assigned site with reliable hours and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Fixed shifts with a six-month commitment and opportunities to grow toward a full schedule exist. Pay is $19.00 per hour with benefits and career growth potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Licensed driver for driving positions when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to associates, drivers, visitors, and vendors.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain entry/exit records.
• Observe inbound and outbound traffic, communicate with receiving and shipping personnel, and report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following site procedures.
• Conduct patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and facility perimeter.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Coordination in Charlotte, NC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to associates, drivers, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, communicate with receiving and shipping personnel, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
