• Observe entrances, exits, loading areas, and other locations; report unusual activity and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly following reporting/escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the location and perimeter.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credential Verification in Dayville, CT, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.86 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 02:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain visitor and vendor entry records in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe entrances, exits, loading areas, and other assigned locations; report unusual activity, access concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail location and perimeter, including parking and delivery areas, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
