Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in North Kingstown, RI to provide dependable, flexible hours and hands-on security experience.

This role combines a fixed weekly shift with potential to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, offering pay of $24.50/hour and a Friday shift from 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM, with opportunities to grow toward a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• One year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge procedures is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate access-control records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including the business perimeter, to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Support a professional and orderly environment by communicating site requirements and directing visitors, deliveries, and/or contractors as needed.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in North Kingstown, RI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge procedures is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
