Job summary

FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, MI seeks a full-time Steward to maintain cleanliness and guest service in the kitchen and related areas. The role covers a wide range of janitorial duties, with a schedule from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am and a starting pay of $15 per hour plus a $1 shift premium for those hours.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE: 11:00 pm – 7:30 am

PAY: Starting at $15 per hour, with opportunities for annual increases. Shift premium of $1 per hour while working between the hours of 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for a variety of janitorial duties and ensures the cleanliness of assigned areas while performing excellent guest service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with Tribal, federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and company policies, practices, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

• Receives dirty dinnerware, flatware, and glassware and places them according to size and likeness onto the automatic dishwasher conveyor belt.
• Removes washed dinnerware, flatware, and glassware from the automatic dishwasher and stacks according to size and likeness for future use and washes those items that have not been cleaned satisfactorily.
• Washes floor mats in designated areas and sweeps and mops the floors in all areas of the kitchen.
• Scrubs walls, floor drains, and stainless-steel tables and sinks.
• Picks up trash and takes to designated areas, washing trash cans when emptied.
• Cleans all ventilator hoods in kitchens.
• Sweeps, mop, and cleans all walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
• Operates a variety of stewarding equipment (i.e.: shop vacs, steamers, floor scrubbers).
• Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
• Promotes and maintains the highest level of guest service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
• Outstanding example of and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One year stewarding experience in a full-service restaurant establishment.
