Qualifications

• 6+ months of security-related experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• State/municipal security license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors and community members by following site-specific procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly and report per protocols.
• Perform regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization, report suspicious activity and maintenance needs.

As a Security Officer Educational Facility Control Access Patrolin East Meadow, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government school environment, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, help to deter incidents, and report security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication to students, staff, visitors, and the community. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out site-specific procedures, school district policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant information with school administrators, staff, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
