Job summary

Allied Universal in Oakdale, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Patrol Driver Educational Facility Control Access Officer to safeguard students, staff, and visitors at an educational location. This unarmed patrol role focuses on customer service, visible presence, and adherence to site procedures while patrolling buildings, grounds, and entrances.

The position offers a flexible schedule with Fri 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM and Sat 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM shifts.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, student or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate school personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with directions and reporting unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required documentation for incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities.

What You’ll Do:
