Allied Universal in Patchogue, NY is seeking a Security Officer Educational Facility Access Control position. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and respond to security concerns to maintain a welcoming and secure campus environment.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor-entry records, and report access concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus areas, buildings, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or facility concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observed incidents, policy violations, maintenance issues, and other security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Educational Facility Access Control in Patchogue, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a university location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and responding to security-related concerns. You will remain visible to help deter incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
