Job summary

Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Security Officer DCJS Licensed Unarmed Patrol to safeguard clients across healthcare facilities. You will conduct routine patrols, deter incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with exceptional service.

This full-time role involves patrolling healthcare locations, remaining visible to deter incidents, and using strong communication to assist the public. Excellent customer service and adherence to site protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Virginia DCJS license is required.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check required by law; drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required before employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations calmly and following site protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, report unauthorized access concerns.
• Prepare clear, timely reports and communicate observed incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

Pay Rate: $18.30 / Hour

• Mon 03:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Tue 03:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Wed 03:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Thur 03:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Fri 03:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, and report unauthorized access concerns.
• Prepare clear, timely reports and communicate observed incidents, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A Virginia DCJS license is required.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
