Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer to support a healthcare location in Lancaster, SC. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

This full-time role offers daytime shifts with a pay rate of $16.50 per hour. You will document activities using computer tools and support a welcoming environment while upholding integrity and service standards.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21 for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required per federal, state and local laws.
• Criminal history considered under applicable laws.
• Drug screen required as permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and medical emergencies calmly and notify hospital personnel or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with wayfinding and restricted areas procedures.
• Prepare clear incident reports as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate hospital personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with wayfinding, and support site procedures for restricted areas, patient privacy, and controlled access.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and interactions in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
