Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while following site procedures and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, report suspicious activity or hazards.
• Complete detailed reports and maintain documentation regarding incidents, patrols, and observations.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol - Hospital Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. You will deliver exceptional customer service and communication while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, and report suspicious activity or hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Complete detailed reports and maintain required documentation regarding incidents, patrols, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
