Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Courtesy Patrol in Coventry, RI. You will protect clients across Retail/Malls and related sites, while maintaining a visible, customer-friendly security presence and responding to incidents with professionalism.

This role offers a part-time schedule with shift-based hours and opportunities to explore new roles through our Claim a Shift platform. A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store associates while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency responses.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and escalate concerns per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe for suspicious activity or hazards, reporting observations.
• Support a welcoming retail environment by giving directions and maintaining a professional presence.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.36 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 01:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sun 01:00 PM - 11:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store associates while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe for suspicious activity, policy violations, or potential hazards, documenting and reporting observations as required.
• Support a welcoming retail environment by providing directions, assisting with customer concerns, and maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
