Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Melville, NY to protect commercial properties and support tenants and staff. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with a six-month commitment and an option to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will perform patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and complete clear reports while providing excellent customer service. CPR/First Aid are preferred, licensing requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior security experience and the ability to work at a property site.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property staff while carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of commercial property buildings, common areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and observe activity; report concerns to site management.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Prepare clear activity, incident, and patrol reports for site management and leadership.

As a Security Officer at a Commerial Property Complex conducting Driving Patrols in Melville, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, common areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures; report access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
