Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY, is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Enhanced to provide dependable, flexible coverage at an assigned site.

You’ll contribute to customer service, protect people and property, and earn by picking up additional shifts when available. Ideal candidates have a NYS Security Guard license, security experience, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least six months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to retail location visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, tenant spaces as assigned, entrances, loading areas, parking locations, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help deter unauthorized access, theft, and other security‑related concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with site‑specific procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

As a Security Officer Commercial Building Control Access Patrol in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.25 / Hour

DayTimeMon03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
