Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for the Corporate Office in New York, NY. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to earn more while gaining hands-on security experience.

Pay rate is $19.65 to $20.65 per hour. Responsibilities include monitoring access, patrolling, responding to incidents, and providing customer service to tenants and visitors, all while following site policies and safety procedures.

Pay Rate: $19.65 - $20.65 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon04:00 PM - 08:00 PMThur08:00 AM - 12:00 PMFri08:00 AM - 12:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout commercial property interiors, exterior areas, parking facilities, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Report maintenance concerns, property damage, and other observed conditions to designated personnel in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
