Job summary

Allied Universal in Boston, MA seeks a Part Time Security Officer for a college campus. The role offers fixed Saturday shift 3:30 PM–11:30 PM with option for more shifts, and a starting pay of $22.05 per hour, plus paid orientation and training.

You will provide customer service to students, staff and visitors, patrol campus buildings, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and prepare incident reports.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law; background histories considered per applicable laws.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities at the campus.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events calmly and professionally, notifying campus contacts or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, report suspicious behavior and policy violations.
• Prepare clear incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Saturdays 330 PM - 1130 PM (With option for more shifts)

As a Security Officerin Boston, MA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat03:30 PM - 11:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, performance and practice spaces, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior, facility concerns, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and maintain professional communication with campus personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
