Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer for a college in Boston, MA. Shifts are Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM with starting pay of $22.05 per hour, paid orientation and training.

As a Security Officer in Boston, you will patrol campus areas, ensure safety, assist students and staff, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents. The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to expand duties using our platform.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate concerns per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report unusual conditions and document incidents.
• Assist with directions and inquiries to support a welcoming campus environment.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, performance spaces, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report unusual conditions or maintenance concerns, and document incidents through required reporting procedures.
• Support a welcoming learning and creative environment by providing directions, assisting with non-emergency inquiries, and communicating professionally with campus stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
