Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Management in Cheyney, PA. You will guard campus clients, verify credentials, monitor access points, and provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

As an Access Control Officer at a higher education location, you will document security information on a computer or tablet, follow campus policies, and respond calmly to incidents. Flexible day/evening shifts available under the Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and guests while following security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials and visitor registrations per campus policies.
• Respond to incidents and access concerns in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate access-control logs, visitor records and incident documentation.
• Conduct regular patrols of campus areas and perimeters to identify unauthorized access or security concerns.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorized access, and visitor registrations in accordance with campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate access‑control logs, visitor records, and incident documentation.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus areas and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access and security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
