Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to protect campus areas in Cheyney, PA. You will provide courteous customer service to students, staff, and visitors while patrolling assigned zones and maintaining a visible security presence.

You will log activities, respond to alarms, coordinate with campus personnel, and support a welcoming campus environment. This role requires compliance with site procedures and shift requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation will be conducted per applicable laws.
• A drug screen is required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be needed per state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus areas to deter incidents and ensure safety.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations per site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observed campus activity, reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation with a professional campus presence.

You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and document activities using computer or tablet technology. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.95 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence hall exteriors, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and coordinating with campus personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while maintaining a professional presence in an educational setting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
