Job summary

Seminole Gaming is seeking a Security Officer to promote a friendly, customer‑oriented presence on the casino floor and hotel. You will provide basic security coverage to protect patrons, employees and assets.

Essential duties include monitoring transfers of monies, patrolling the property, reporting incidents, assisting in emergencies and maintaining key control. A high school diploma and effective English communication are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of guest service experience, prior security or casino experience preferred.
  • Must communicate effectively with guests in English.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Must handle emergency situations calmly.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle license with a good driving record.
  • Must complete standard Seminole Tribe of Florida forms and reports.
  • Ability to read and understand Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures.

Job Description:
Responsibilities:

The Security Officer is responsible for promoting an outgoing, friendly, customer-oriented personality at all times. They will provide basic security coverage ensuring that adequate protection is provided for the safety and assets of patrons, employees, and the company.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensures that proper security is provided for all transfers of monies within the casino and hotel areas of the complex
  • Conducts themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and company/departmental policies and procedures
  • Communicates and provides directions to our patrons and employees
  • Prepares detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner
  • Patrols the hotel and casino areas to establish a security presence and reports all unusual situations and/or suspicious persons
  • Assists in the coordination of emergency situations
  • Assists in maintaining proper key control
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced, guest-smoking environment, with constant exposure to general public and excessive noise
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to wear a radio earphone without any medical limitations

Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
