Barbier Security Group (BSG) is a rapidly growing Bay Area-based security services company. Founded in 2007, Barbier Security Group has been providing custom protective security programs for individuals, government organizations, and private companies.

We are currently seeking qualified Security Officers for an Access Control position at a prestigious private university in Oakland. This position is staffed 24/7. Officers are responsible for documenting events, controlling equipment and keys, monitoring security systems, and liaising with campus personnel, students, law enforcement, and management. They must be reliable, professional, and capable of handling various situations to promote safety and confidence on campus.

• Salary: $27.50 per hour
• Shift: Full Time Graveyard (Saturday - Wednesday)

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Current California Guard Card
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable)
• Reliable transportation
• Basic computer and smartphone skills
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
• Strong listening, patience, and compassion skills
• Ability to remain calm, think critically, and communicate effectively in crises
• Adherence to laws, policies, and confidentiality standards
• At least one year of security, patrol, or event staff experience
• Ability to work independently
• Successful background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:

• Stand or walk for long periods
• Climb stairs and navigate multi-level buildings
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Operate security equipment
• Respond quickly to emergencies
• Maintain alertness and stamina
• Kneel, bend, and perform visual and auditory monitoring
