Job Description: Security Guard at Iona University

Iona University seeks Security Guards to ensure the safety of all members of the Iona Community and to protect life and property. The responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining the safety and security of all community members and property.
2. Enforcing New York State Laws, Iona College policies, the Code of Conduct, and Parking and Traffic Regulations.
3. Adhering to the Department of Campus Safety and Security Rules and Regulations and Manual of Procedure.
4. Responding promptly to service calls, assisting complainants, investigating incidents, and notifying supervisors of unusual occurrences.
5. Enforcing booting and towing policies for vehicles in violation, as directed by supervisors.
6. Conducting patrols and access control, maintaining high visibility, and remaining on post until relieved.
7. Performing duties with honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
8. Ensuring assigned vehicles are well-maintained and operational, including operating a twelve-passenger van for the campus shuttle.
9. Caring for uniforms and equipment properly.
10. Providing safety information to the community as needed.
