Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Building Visitor Authorization in Sparrows Point, MD. You will protect clients across industries, monitor entry points, verify credentials, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents.

As part of a dynamic team, you will use your communication and customer service skills to support employees, visitors, and operations while reporting observations.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Background checks, drug screening, and licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers at an industrial location.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain access logs.
• Screen and direct deliveries, contractors, and commercial vehicles per site requirements.
• Respond calmly to incidents and escalate concerns through proper channels.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, parking areas, and perimeter and report security concerns.

As a Security Officer Building Visitor Authorization in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps deter security-related incidents. You will use communication and customer service skills to support employees, visitors, and operations while reporting observations. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.03 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an industrial location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access logs.
• Screen and direct deliveries, contractors, and commercial vehicles in accordance with site requirements and established traffic-flow procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• This site has limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
