Job Description

As a Security Officer Building Access Control in Costa Mesa, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service. You will communicate professionally with visitors and staff while supporting security-related operations through routine observations and reporting. Pay Rate: $23.49 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to retail store associates, shoppers, and visitors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, stockrooms, exterior walkways, parking areas, and the business perimeter, as assigned.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and report observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate resources when needed.
• Help to deter theft, unauthorized access, and disruptive behavior through a professional presence and adherence to post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
