Job summary

Allied Universal in Reno, NV is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable, site-based coverage with flexible hours and opportunities to earn more through extra shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at an industrial electronics location.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of building interiors, exteriors, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points, visitor and contractor activity, and deliveries in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Maintain reports and logs, and handle equipment per laws, training, and company policies.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Threat Detection in Reno, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Mon: 08:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at an industrial electronics location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, visitor and contractor activity, and deliveries in accordance with site policies and security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Maintain required reports and logs, document observations and incidents accurately, and handle authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, training, and company policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of armed guard, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
