Allied Universal in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide armed public safety at a government location with flexible, reliable hours. You’ll start with fixed anchor shifts and can pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

The role may lead toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week. The position requires a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card, plus background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of security, law enforcement, or military experience, or a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years old for armed roles and pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public with access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify IDs, issue visitor passes, and maintain access records.
• Control access to restricted areas and report unauthorized access per procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of entry points and public areas to deter security concerns.

As a Security Officer Armed Public Safety in West Palm Beach, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.85 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization credentials, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access‑related records.
• Control access to restricted areas in accordance with established procedures, report unauthorized access attempts, and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following site protocols and notifying emergency responders and/or site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, public areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security‑related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
