Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Miami, FL. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts via the scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $22.26 per hour with a schedule on Fridays from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Responsibilities include armed patrols, access control, incident response, and reporting.

Qualifications

• One year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Armed guard card or license required.
• College degree required.
• DD214 with honorable discharge, associate degree, 60 college credits, police academy or corrections academy certificate accepted.
• State/county/city security license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site procedures and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and coordinate with appropriate personnel and responders.
• Prepare incident reports, daily logs, and communicate security information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Patrol Intervention in Miami, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant security‑related information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Provide a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
