Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA is seeking a part-time Security Officer Armed Patrol to deter incidents and maintain a safe environment in a healthcare setting. You will perform regular armed patrols, monitor access points, and respond calmly to emergencies while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• Valid armed guard card or license.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of healthcare buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, access control, and enforcement of site-specific policies.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation; communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and coordinating with appropriate personnel and/or first responders.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of healthcare buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, access control, and enforcement of site-specific policies while maintaining a professional and respectful presence.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation; communicate observations and concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
