Job summary

Allied Universal® in Columbia, SC is seeking a Security Officer Licensed Unarmed Patrol Driver to join our team. This full-time role focuses on protecting patients, visitors, staff, and facilities through professional customer service and vigilant patrols.

You will monitor entrances, respond to incidents, complete clear incident reports, and coordinate with site leadership. A valid driver's license and at least 1 year of security experience are required, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year security experience.
• Valid driver’s license required in the state of employment.
• Background check and drug screen required by policy.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security procedures and location policies.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations following established protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions, and report unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity documentation and communicate observations to site leadership.

Pay Rate: $17.26 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 01:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and coordinating with appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and wayfinding, and report unauthorized access or suspicious behavior to designated personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity documentation, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or responding agencies as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
