Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer - Hospital Access in Columbia, SC. You will protect patients, staff, and visitors by patrolling a healthcare facility, monitoring entrances, and providing exemplary service with a calm, professional presence.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent, background check, drug screen where permitted, and adherence to site policies. Shifts include nights and weekends as shown.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background investigation as per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner following established protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and support visitor-management procedures as required by site rules.
• Document incidents and patrols accurately and communicate information to site leadership.

As a Security Officer Unarmed - Hospital Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to patients, visitors, and staff. You will support a caring environment through teamwork, integrity, and dependable service while using computer or tablet systems as needed.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.26 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facility buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and support visitor-management procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or responding personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
