Job summary

Allied Universal in New London, NC is hiring a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver. You will perform armed patrols, respond to incidents, and maintain security procedures in a government corrections environment with a focus on safety and service.

The role requires a valid driver’s license and a firearms permit is preferred. This is a full-time, day-time schedule with opportunities for training and career growth within Allied Universal.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in New London, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government corrections environment, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government correctional location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access and movement through assigned areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy violations.
• Maintain required reports and activity logs, communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws and post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
