Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL to safeguard clients across government transportation facilities. You will perform patrols, deter incidents, and respond to security concerns while delivering exceptional customer service.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license and compliance with licensing requirements; pepper spray certification and armed guard credentials are preferred. A background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid driver’s license per Allied Universal policy.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Armed guard card or license preferred; guard card/license preferred.
• Be at least 21 years old for armed roles; HS diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and report to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of transit centers, platforms, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior and maintenance concerns.
• Complete detailed activity reports and shift logs in a government transportation environment.

You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver outstanding customer service. Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour

• Tue 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Fri 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sun 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at transportation facilities and surrounding areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or public agencies as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit centers, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs while maintaining a professional presence in a government transportation environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
