Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Professional on a part-time basis in Fairfax, VA. You will protect government sites, patrol facilities, and interact with staff to deter threats while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Eligible candidates should have 2+ years of armed security background, a high school diploma, and an active Armed VA DCJS license; training is provided as needed. Additional shifts and overtime may be available under the Fairfax County contract.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Must have 2 years of Armed related experience (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an Active Armed VA DCJS license (training provided if needed).
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience are preferred, but training is provided if needed.
• CPR and first aid certification are preferred and training is provided if needed.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will undergo a background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within government locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner across government locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and threats.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors.
• Document and report security-related incidents, unusual observations, or policy violations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
• Assist with emergency response activities per established protocols and leadership instructions.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed.

As an Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government buildings and government properties. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your visible patrols and strong communication skills will support a secure environment for staff and visitors.

On the Fairfax County Government Contract, we offer additional hours to our part-time officers and overtime hours to our full-time officers. We have onsite free parking and offer many promotional opportunities within the contract.

• Must have 2 years of Armed related experience. (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an Active Armed VA DCJS (Will provide Armed DCJS Training if proof from prior experience is provided)
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience are preferred, but will provide training if needed.
• CPR and first aid certification are preferred but will provide training if needed.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
