Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established healthcare facility protocols.
• Maintain proper handling, storage, and documentation of assigned firearm and equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to site leadership and appropriate personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol DCJS Licensed Part Time in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A Virginia DCJS license is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
