Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Professional to serve and safeguard clients under the Fairfax County Government Contract. You will monitor, patrol, and respond to incidents to deter security threats and maintain a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

The role requires 2 years of armed security experience, a high school diploma, and an active VA DCJS armed certification. Onsite parking is provided and overtime opportunities are available on the contract.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Armed related experience (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Armed VA DCJS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within the government locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the government locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors.
• Document and report security-related incidents, unusual observations, or policy violations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
• Assist with emergency response activities in accordance with established protocols and instructions from site leadership.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed.

As an Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government buildings and government properties. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your visible patrols and strong communication skills will support a secure environment for staff and visitors.

On the Fairfax County Government Contract, we offer additional hours to our part-time officers and overtime hours to our full-time officers. We have onsite free parking and offer many promotional opportunities within the contract.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Must have 2 years of Armed related experience. (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an Active Armed VA DCJS (Will provide Armed DCJS Training if proof from prior experience is provided)
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience are preferred, but will provide training if needed.
• CPR and first aid certification are preferred but will provide training if needed.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
