Job summary

Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA seeks an Armed Security Professional to monitor and protect government buildings under a Fairfax County contract. You will patrol, deter threats, and provide a welcoming, professional presence for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ for armed roles.
• At least 2 years of armed-related experience.
• Active armed VA DCJS certification required or training provided.

• Background check and drug screen required.
• Valid driver's license for driving positions.
• CPR/First Aid training preferred but training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.

As an Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government buildings and government properties. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your visible patrols and strong communication skills will support a secure environment for staff and visitors.

On the Fairfax County Government Contract, we offer additional hours to our part-time officers and overtime hours to our full‑time officers. We have onsite free parking and offer many promotional opportunities within the contract.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within the different government locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, supporting the different government locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to assist in maintaining a secure environment for staff and visitors.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual observations, or policy violations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
• Assist with emergency response activities in accordance with established protocols and instructions from site leadership.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Must have 2 years of Armed related experience. (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an Active Armed VA DCJS (Will provide Armed DCJS Training if proof from prior experience is provided)
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience are preferred, but will provide training if needed.
• CPR and first aid certification are preferred but will provide training if needed.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
