Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, seeks an armed Security Officer on a part-time basis in Columbia, SC. You will monitor sites, provide excellent customer service, and support access control while patrolling assigned areas with a visible presence.

The role includes shifts on Mon 08:00 AM - 05:30 PM and Fri 08:00 AM - 05:30 PM, with eligibility for armed duties and background checks as required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and carry out security procedures per site policies and emergency response when applicable.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and solve problems.
• Conduct regular armed patrols and deter incidents; adapt to client-site environments.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
