Job summary

Allied Universal in Tacoma, WA is seeking a part-time Security Officer Armed Concealed Carry Patrol to protect clients across financial institutions and other facilities. You will patrol, deter incidents, and deliver courteous service while maintaining professional presence.

This role requires a concealed carry permit, at least one year of security experience, and the ability to work a daytime schedule. Training, benefits, and opportunities for shift‑claim via our platform are provided.

Qualifications

• Concealed carry weapons permit required.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Baton certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• 18+ (21+ for armed roles) depending on state law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner following escalation/reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and document visitor, employee, and contractor activity.
• Maintain firearms qualifications and carry equipment per Allied Universal policies and site requirements.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain required firearms qualifications and carry authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
