Allied Universal in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Alarm Response to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts.

This part-time role pays $15.58 per hour and requires at least one year of security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds; licensing and access-control experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate clearly with site personnel and escalate security concerns to appropriate contacts.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Alarm Response in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $15.58 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and/or vendors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare‑related facility.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with site personnel and escalating security‑related concerns to appropriate contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
