Qualifications

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Front Office in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.70 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 01:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, visitors, faculty, and staff by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor the front desk area, greet and screen visitors, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Answer incoming calls, provide directions and general information, and assist with routing inquiries to appropriate departments or personnel.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and disruptive activity by observing entry points, maintaining awareness of activity in the reception area, and reporting suspicious conditions or behaviors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Certified Protection Officer certification is required.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess 4 or more years of military or law enforcement experience or a criminal justice degree.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
