Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Airport Screening Checkpoint in New York for a part-time role at an airport-related location. You will perform security procedures, respond to incidents, and conduct patrols to deter unauthorized activity while delivering excellent customer service.

The position requires a NYS Security Guard License, a high school diploma or equivalent, and compliance with background checks and drug screening where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Background check required in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an airport-related location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned terminal areas, public spaces, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, reporting suspicious conditions, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity reports and communicate professionally with visitors, tenants, airline personnel, contractors, and emergency responders.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
